Wild Times Exotics!


Wednesday, June 3, 2:30-3:30PM

*Registration required.* Call the library at 618-965-9732 to sign up.

Lacey from Wild Times Exotics will be at the library to educate us and show off several small exotic animals. Participants will be able to touch and pet most of the animals.

Please be sure to register because space is limited.

Kids Info
(From newborns to those who just completed 5th grade)

Reading Logs

When you sign up your child for Summer Reading, you will receive a reading log & stickers.

For very young children and early readers, for every picture book read, place a sticker on a space on the log. When you fill the reading log, you can bring it to the library and your child can choose a prize! Then you can get a new reading log and earn more prizes!

If your child is reading chapter books, they place one sticker for every 20 minutes that they read. When the log is full, they can choose a prize!






Camp READ

Wednesdays from June 10 through July 22
from 11a.m. to 12p.m. Children are invited
to the library for stories, fun activities, and snacks!

Camp READ activities are geared towards PreK-5th graders, but younger children are welcome to join if a parent or guardian is present and helps them with the day's activity.

Teen Info
(Just finished 6th grade through new graduates)

Reading BINGO

When you sign up for Summer Reading, you will receive a Summer Reading Bingo Sheet. Read books that fit the theme of a square to cross it off. Only one square may be crosse off for each book. 

When you return your BINGO sheet, you will earn one entry into our prize drawings just for returning it, even if you don't get a BINGO. You will earn an additional entry for each BINGO you do complete, as well as one extra if you black out the board! 

BINGO sheets must be returned by Saturday, July 25 at 1:00PM. Make sure your name a contact info is on your BINGO sheet. Prize drawings will be on Monday, July 27. 









Teen Mondays

Every Monday from June 1 through July 20 from 2-4PM.

We will have a different fun activity each week, as well as snacks. Weekly activities are:

June 1: Teen Paint & Sip (mushroom painting and mocktails)

June 8: Cracked Pot Succulent Planters (diy planters from cracked   
             flower pots - succulents provided)

June 15: Herb Tasting/Herb Butter Making (with Christy Howell)

June 22: Fantasy Garden (diy potted garden for a fairy or gnome to
              live in)

June 29: Teen LEGO Day (plant/floral LEGO sets)

July 6: Book Bedazzling (BYO book to bedazzle! We will have a few
           books available but it's more fun if you bring a book you
           love!)

July 13: Bee Hotels (diy bee hotel to protect our pollinators)

July 20: Teen Glow Bingo (winners get prizes!)

Teens and Adults Only 13+ Interactive Movie

-Tuesday, July 7 @ 4:00PM
-Runtime 1 hour, 34 minutes
We will provide a script prompt and props for a fun interactive movie event. Must be 13 or older to attend.

Summer Movie Series

Every Friday at 11:00am. Movie runtimes vary. All movies are rated G  or PG. Children 8 and under need to be accompanied by a caregiver. Snacks provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.

June 5: The Secret Garden (G)
June 12: Grow (PG)
June 18 (Thursday*): James & the Giant Peach (PG)
    *The library is closed on June 19, so this week's movie is on Thursday.*
June 26: Thumbelina (G)
July 3: Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (PG)

July 17: Bee Movie (PG)
July 24: Over the Hedge (PG)


Summer Karaoke

Every other Thursday from 4-6PM. Drop in and out as you like, no need to stay the whole time. 

Karaoke is for all ages, however, some songs/themes may be PG-13, so parental permission is needed for anyone under 13 years of age.

June 11: Pride Karaoke (LGBTQ+ Themes for Pride month)
June 25: Disney Karaoke (Fun and kid-friendly)
July 9: Hamilton Karaoke (Celebrate America250)
July 23: Americana/Summer Karaoke (Summer in the USA vibes!)


DIY Herb Gardens (with Christy Howell)

Thursday, June 4, 5-6PM
*Bring Your Own Pot,* all other supplies are provided, and put together a small herb planter to take home! Children under 10 need to be accompanied by a caregiver. *Registration Required*


DIY Sugar Scrub Craft

Tuesday, June 23, 4-5PM
Create a coconut oil-based scented sugar body scrub to keep your skin smooth and moisturized this summer. Children under 10 need to be accompanied by a caregiver. *Registration Required*
