Pre-k - 5th Grade

Reading Logs:

​

When you sign up for Summer Reading you will receive a reading log and stickers. You put 1 sticker on your log for every picture book you read or 1 sticker for every 20 minutes of a chapter book that you read.

 

When you fill up your log, bring it to the library and you can pick out a prize and get a new reading log to fill out! You can fill up as many reading logs as you can this summer!

· Picture Books = One sticker per book

· Chapter Books = One sticker per 20 minutes reading time

 

Camp READ: A Universe of Stories​

Join us every Wednesday from June 5 through July 24 at 11:00a.m.  for story time and outer space themed activities at Camp READ! Check the calendar for weekly themes! 

​

NOTE: We will be closed on Wednesday, June 19th, but you can pick up a take home activity that week!

6th - 12th Grade

Reading BINGO:

​

Sign up for Summer Reading and you will get a Reading Bingo sheet. Each Bingo square will have a category of book to read. You may choose any book that fits the theme. Only use one square per book. Each completed Bingo is one entry into our prize drawing. You also get one entry into the prize drawing for turning in your BINGO sheet, even if you don’t complete a BINGO. The prize drawing will be on July 26.

 

Teen Mondays

​

Join us every Monday from June 3 through July 22 at 2:00 p.m. for fun teen outer space and glow-in-the-dark activities! Check the       calendar for each week’s activity! 6th-12th grade only!

 

Teens Only Interactive Movie!

​

Our final Teen Monday event on July 22 will be an interactive movie showing of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (Rated PG)! We will provide a script prompt and props for a fun interactive movie experience! 6th-12th graders only. Please call the library at 618-965-9732 to register. If you are not registered, seats will be available on a first come, first served basis until seats are filled.

Adult Programs

Grown Up Story Hour:

 

Wednesday, June 5, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

If you have ever heard Taylor reading children's books in the library and thought, "That sounds fun!," or if you have ever been jealous of all the kids' crafts we do in the library, or if you just think it would be relaxing to sit back and be read to, join us for Adult Story Hour! 

​

Glow Painting:

​

Thursday, June 13, 4:00 - 6:00p.m.

​

Gather at the library for a fun afternoon of glow-in-the-dark painting and socializing! Registration required, no cost. Call the library to sign up. Adults only.

Glow Bingo:

​

Thursday, July 11, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. 

​

Glow in the dark bingo! The person who wins the most rounds will win a small prize. Registration required, no cost. Call the library to sign up. Adults only.

Family Movie Fridays!

 

Every Friday, June 7 - July 26, 11:00 a.m.

​

We will show family friendly movies every Friday during Summer Reading! All movies will be rated G or PG. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a caregiver. Check Facebook for updated movie listings.

Family Puzzle Race

​

Thursday, June 27, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

​

Registration Required. Put together a team of puzzlers & compete against other teams in a puzzle race! Please register in teams of 2-5. We recommend that each team have at least one adult member. Each team will have 2 hours to put together the same 500 piece puzzle. The team that finishes first or is closest to finishing in the time given, will win a prize!

All Ages Interactive Movie - Galaxy Quest

​

Saturday, July 20, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

​

An interactive movie viewing of Galaxy Quest! (Rated PG). We will have props and prompts for a fun viewing experience where you can interact with the movie! Children under 10 must be accompanied by a caregiver. Registration is encouraged because seating will be limited.
