Event, Program, and Meeting Details:

Summer Reading 2025 - Level Up at Your Library

Registration for summer reading begins May 27 for all ages. You can sign up any time throughout the summer as well. When you sign up, you’ll receive a reading log (kids through 6th grade) or a reading-opoly game (teens and adults), as well as a calendar of events - we will have fun activities for all ages!

​Tuesdays 1-3p.m. - Crafternoons

Join us on Tuesdays for Crafternoons (Craft + Afternoon) at the library! Bring whatever portable craft project you’re working on to the library and socialize while you work! Share your expertise, tips, and tricks with other crafters. We will provide coffee, tea, and hot      cocoa to participants.​

 

June 4, 2 p.m. - Summer Reading Kickoff with Wild Times Exotics

We will kick off summer reading on June 4 at 2:00pm with an exciting program by Wild Times Exotics, Ltd.! *You must preregister to attend this program.* Wild Times Exotics will show and educate participants on a   variety of small exotic animals which participants will be able to pet, hold, and/or feed! https://www.wildtimesexotics.com/

 

June 6, 4:15 p.m. - Adult Book Club

We will be discussing Caraval by Stephanie Garber.

Teen Mondays 

Every Monday beginning June 9 we will have fun game-themed activities for teens only (6th-12th grades). Ask for a Summer Reading Calendar for all the details!

 

Take Home Crafts

On alternating Wednesdays this summer we will have kids’ craft kits available which you can take home or do at the library.

 

Family Game Days

On alternating Wednesdays this summer  from 11a.m. to 1p.m. we will have several fun games set up at the library for kids of ALL AGES (even grown up kids!)

 

Summer Movies 

Every Friday beginning June 6 we will be showing family friendly movies at the library at 11a.m. All movies are rated G or PG. Pick up a Summer Reading Calendar for all the details.

 

June 12, 4-6 p.m. - Puzzle Race

All ages! Sign up in teams of 2-5 and compete against other teams to complete a 500 piece puzzle in the time limit. The winning team wins a prize! Preregistration is required.

 

June 16, 7 p.m. - Board Meeting

 

June 21, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Adult & Teen Trivia

Sign up in teams of 2-5 and compete in a trivia contest to win prizes! Trivia is themed around summertime, gaming, & libraries. Teens and adults only (6th grade and up).        Preregistration is required.

 

June 26, 4-6 p.m. - Adult Paint-by-Number

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon painting at the library. We have a  variety of art to choose from and it’s paint-by-number, so no art skills necessary! Preregistration is required.

Free Adult GED/HSE classes are offered at the library.

Monday - Thursday in the library. Ask for Kim for more information.

 

Free Adult ESL tutoring sessions are offered at the library.

Ask for Kim or Ruth for more information.

If you or your child participates in a Steeleville Area Public Library District event, the Steeleville Area Public Library District may photograph or video record the events or activities in which you or your child is participating for the purpose of promoting the library and its services and programs.
